The Movie “Untraceable”
I just got done watching the movie “Untraceable”. This movie is about a psycho that abducts people, hooks up a streaming video and kills them. The way he kills them is the most disturbing part though. The more people that visit his website determine the speed of his victim’s death. I remember visiting the website for the movie a few days ago, just out of curiosity. At the bottom of the website there was a link called “kill with me?” I clicked on it, hoping to get more information about the movie, and because it’s the name of the song Danny Lohner did for the soundtrack. When the website came up, I hit the enter button and a warning popped up. It said something along the lines of “innocent people will suffer harm by your entering this site, do you wish to continue?” I didn’t even think twice about it and clicked no. The mere thought of possibly doing someone harm completely freaked me out. After I clicked no, the next screen said “11% of you heeded the warning, thankfully some of you still have morals”. How low that number was completely blew me away. And as I watched the movie, I had to wonder how would people react if this were to really happen. How many people would rush to the website to see if it were a hoax? How many would completely disregard the warning? Think about it. A person’s life partially lies in your hands. Would you watch, or would you be absolutely disgusted and turn away? Would you call the police, or would you call your friends and say “hey! Go look at this sick shit!”? Do you possess what it takes to do the right thing and deny your curiosity? Remember the saying “curiosity killed the cat”? What if it were true in the most literal sense? What would you do? Now THERE’s a point to ponder. I highly recommend this movie, and I hope it shakes you as much as it shook me.
Where Have All the Musicians Gone?
Where have all the musicians gone? What happened to “good” music? A rampage of Fall of Boy fans screaming they rock? I dont think so. Screaming fans for Alice in Chains? I think so. Music is a detoriating art that needs help. Music companies sign musicians left and right, and what is the outcome of the music…SHIT! Absolute horrible shit, no offense to the pop lovers of this world but there are different music fans out there that are tired of the craze of emo and pop. It’s follow the leader in the music industry, no one has their own sound, no one has their own songs. its all rip offs of another song being put to a little change in a guitar riff here and maybe the drums are a little different. But thats all with the music, the lyrics on the other hand? Someone stab with me a butter knife. Im tired of hearing about love put to a poppy tune and some heart throb “boy” up there singing his heart out about how she left him for another boy….high school ring a bell? Anyway which way, music is in need of major help or its going to collapse like a bad leader with a dictatorship. All music should be appreciated but its kind of hard to appreciate something when it makes your ears bleed and the steady urge of stompin’ on your ear drums.
Imus Vs. Freedom of Speech
Imus what the fuck were you thinking is the first thing that comes to mind then there is the question of the insecurity of the Rutgers players.
Either which way a man was fired for his freedom of speech, not saying what he said was right in morals but people have their opinions and if he thinks they are nappy headed hoes then that is what they think. Its an opinion, so maybe he addressed it to some 2 million listeners but does this man have that significant of power to brainwash these people into believing this? I hope not, after all he is not Hitler.
Now the girls of Rutger I understand how hard life can be on a female with judgements and things said about you BUT you have chosen to put yourself in the spotlight, like it or not you will have people say things about you that you may not like but you have chosen your path some of you will move onto the WNBA and what will happen then, you will be more in the spotlight. Don Imus said his apologizies and yet still lost his job. Thank you United States for our “freedom of speech”. A fine would have worked just as well.
Happy Fucking Holidays
So here we are 7 1/2 days until Christmas, and what are we doing? We are shopping, we are spending MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of dollars at retailers. For what? To make all those people around us happy. Happiness, such a strange word, especially when being used around Christmas. No one is happy, admit it, you have to get out there in those crowds with rude pushy people to spend money that you dont have. Yes I said dont have. Many of people are putting themselves in a debt to make others happy, as Louie Armstrong said…”What A Wonderful World?” But spending the money isn’t my rant, if you want to put yourself in debt go right ahead, just dont claim bankruptcy because you put wayyyy to much on the credit cards…dumbass. The people out there, that is my rant, people who are shopping, who are driving who who who…who do anything during the holiday season, and yes this does include me. But come on. respect, you see it in the movies, you can see it in the figment of your imagination, but WHY cant you do it? I was walking into Kmart™ yesterday evening to get get some lights for my tree and this lady comes hauling some ass out of the store and about hits me. Me, being the nice person I a apologize for the inconvenience and she looks at me and says “cant you see i was walking here you stupid bitch?” Now I didn mention before I am a nice person but come on…Its the “CHRISTMAS” season (see where I am getting at now?) I looked at her muffled under my breath jesus christ and asked if “Is that really necessary?” and walked off. She, on the other hand, continued to yell at me as I was walking into the store about having respect for my elders. Was an excuse me not enough? I was pissed so I turned around and nonchalantly said I am done with you woman go on your ways. So the moral of the rant. No matter how bad the Christmas season may be remember to show some respect to others around you they are not the only ones who decided to wait last minute to shop.
Food Service
You know what I have never understood? How people can be soo rude to people who work in the food industry. Doesn’t it ever come to mind that “Hey they have control of my food i should be a little respectful at least?” But it wont happen, it seems that most people look at employees in food service and just see them as failures. They don’t look at the fact that they could be working this job to get them by until they are able to acheive what they want or even a struggling college student who is trying to make it on their own. I guess I am writing this because I do work in food service and I am going to college full time and I just hate to see the way people treat others I work with or even me. The last thing i need is a lady on a power trip screaming at me because she has had a long day…bahhh…yeah lady you want my day go for it they start at 7:30 am and they finish up around 9:45 at night, not the worst of schedules for people but still, that is a long day. So next time you go out to eat and the waitress is nice to you and you are in a bad mood try not to take it out on them for one they have the control over your food and two you never know what they have to deal with. They are required to be nice to you, show them some respect and be nice to them…unless you get the waitress on the power trip, then in that case be a bitch right back.
